Notre Dame's defense hung on to a 14-10 lead in the second half Saturday night as the Irish beat rival USC at home for the first time since 2001. Senior quarterback Tommy Rees left the game with a neck injury in the third quarter after throwing two touchdown passes, leaving the game in the hands of a recharged Stephon Tuitt and the rest of the Irish defense.
